Privacy Policy
Your Data. Your Control.

We built Mr. Converter on a single unwavering promise — your files never leave your device. This policy explains exactly what we do (and don't do) with your information.

No file uploads, ever
No cross-site tracking
Zero data sold to advertisers
In-browser WebAssembly processing
Quick Summary

The TL;DR — Read this if nothing else

Mr. Converter processes 100% of your files locally inside your browser. We use WebAssembly (Wasm) to run conversion engines client-side. This means your files are never uploaded to — or ever seen by — our servers. We collect only anonymous, aggregated analytics. We sell nothing. We track nobody.

1

Introduction

Welcome to Mr. Converter ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy governs your use of our website located at mrconverter.app (the "Service") and explains how we handle information about you when you use it.

Our approach to privacy is radically simple: because our technology processes files entirely within your browser, we never receive your files in the first place. This fundamentally separates us from conventional cloud-based converters and makes most standard privacy concerns irrelevant.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2

How We Process Your Files

This is the most important section. Unlike virtually every other online file converter, Mr. Converter is a client-side, offline-capable application. Here is the technical breakdown:

0 bytes uploadedYour files never travel over the network
100% LocalRuns inside your browser using WebAssembly
No Trace LeftFiles are cleared from memory after download

Technical Details

When you drop a file into Mr. Converter, the browser reads it using the native FileReader or File Web APIs — this happens entirely in your computer's RAM. Our conversion engines (FFmpeg.wasm, pdf-lib, Sharp, etc.) are WebAssembly modules that have been pre-downloaded to your browser during your first visit. They run locally without any internet connection.

Offline Capable

Once you visit Mr. Converter, many conversions work even if you disconnect from the internet — further proving no server is involved.

4

Cookies & Tracking

We are deeply opposed to invasive web tracking. Here is our full cookie policy:

  • Essential Local Storage: We may store your last-used conversion format or UI theme preference in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
  • No Advertising Cookies: We do not use Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising network cookie.
  • No Cross-Site Tracking: We do not track your browsing activity across other websites.
  • Analytics Only: Any analytics tool we use is configured to anonymize IP addresses and respects the browser's "Do Not Track" signal.
5

Third-Party Services

To operate a reliable website, we rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers. These providers may log standard network information (such as IP addresses) for security and abuse prevention purposes:

  • Vercel (Hosting): Our website is deployed on Vercel's global edge network. Vercel automatically logs IP addresses and request metadata for DDoS protection and performance optimization. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • Open-Source WebAssembly Libraries: The conversion engines (FFmpeg, libvips, etc.) are open-source and run entirely on your device. They make no external network requests during file processing.
Important Note on Hosting Logs

Hosting infrastructure logs are a standard and unavoidable aspect of operating any public website. We do not control them, but we ensure our providers meet high privacy standards. These logs are not used for marketing.

6

Data Security

The best data security for your files is to never store them — and that's exactly what we do. Since we never receive your files, there is no database of your conversions to breach.

For the limited anonymous analytics data we do collect, it is stored by our analytics provider and protected by industry-standard security measures. Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) to protect the integrity of the page delivered to your browser.

Despite these strong safeguards, no security system is 100% infallible. However, given the fundamental privacy-by-design architecture of Mr. Converter, your most sensitive data — your files — is never at risk.

7

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. Since we require no account creation and collect no personal data, children can safely use the conversion tools without any privacy risk related to their identity.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with any personal information, please contact us immediately so that we can take necessary actions.

8

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights under privacy laws like the GDPR (EU) or CCPA (California). Because we collect no personal data, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. Specifically:

  • Right to Access: There is no personal data file associated with you to access.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): We hold no personal data about you. Your browser's local storage can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
  • Right to Object / Opt-Out: You can opt out of anonymous analytics by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting, which we honour.
9

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.

If we make any material changes that significantly affect your privacy, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users — for example, by placing a prominent notice on the website for a period of time.
